Tips/Things to Know:

  • You will receive the Pot for free on Spring 8th from Yun if you are living in Konohana or from Howard if you are living in Bluebell. To get the Frying pan and Seasoning Set, you have to complete requests from that person to get them. They will cost you money and require a certain cooked dish. So keep an eye out for them on the request board.
  • There is a cooking festival every week. It goes in order of dishes, Salad, Soup, Main Dish, Dessert. The appetizer and other category of recipes is not used in the festivals.
  • For your 1st spring the mayor of the town you choose to live in will bring you the ingredients for entering a dish. But starting in your 1stsummer you will need to find stuff to make it yourself.
  • Talking: You can earn +100 FP each day when you talk to a person. Talking to the person more than once won't give you additional friendship.
  • There are horse carts that will keep an item's freshness forever.
  • Collect 10 Old Boots, 10 Old Balls, 8 Ore Stone, and 10 Snowballs.
  • The Snowballs can be found randomly on the ground during Winter. You'll need 10 of these to complete the Oracle's request that rewards you with the Snowboard. She also wants 10 Elli Leaves, which are a foraged wild flower also found in Winter. Elli Leaves have a star rank and will rot if you try to keep them until Winter of year 2, when the Oracle's quest becomes available. Snowballs don't rot (or melt) so you can collect the necessary 10 and store them in your horse cart until you activate the request from the Oracle.
  • Ore Stone is a wild foraged item found in the mountain area, needed for bed expansions. You can find it by looking on the ground or foraging in the tree trunks and mountain cracks. If you find one, don't smash it with your hammer to get at it's random contents. Instead, store it in your storage cart until you have a total of 8. After that, you can smash any new ones you find to see what's inside.
  • The horse doesn't have any friendship points, there are no horse festivals, and you can swap it out for another horse at any time.
Questions:
  • One: What is they best way to get more heart for a chicken?
  • Two: Any certain spot, speed, or way your supposed to pet the animal while on the mini game? Does the heart level go up each time you pet them or over a certain amount of days?
Answer:
  • One: The best way is to pet them everyday, give them treats, and let them out to graze. The grazing thing might be a little bit of a pain because if it rainsor turns to night, they will get angry at you. If you buy a cat, though, it will let your chickens out and in as you friend the cat more. The more the cat likes you, the more chickens it tends to.
  • Two: For the petting game, I would pet in long strokes and not too hard or your hand will kill you. As far as I know there is no certain spot to hit (unlike HM DS) and as long as you can get the chicken to close its eyes upside down and blush (the third face it makes) then you are fine. It may not show, but the chicken is starting to like you fast. If you do that then the chicken will fully like you in 3-4 seasons.
  • As you go through the game, you may come across the six Wonderful Stones. These round stones are not used for tool upgrades. If you collect all six of the stones, visit the Harvest Goddess with the stones in your rucksack to receive three random wishes.
  • The blacksmith will want you to fetch him 8 Stones and in return he'll give you a hammer.
  • You also need to get the axe in a similar way. Keep an eye on the Konohana message board once you get the Hammer until you see the Axe request appear. Sheng wants you to bring him 8000 G and 10 Branches before he'll give you an Axe.
  • Clothing outfits are from bulletin board requests posted by Nori and the Oracle.
